PhoneFile PRO works with all mainstream smartcard and sim readers, which conform to the industry standard for communicating between the PC and reader, which is called PC/SC.
It also offers a limited number of dedicated 'legacy' drivers, for communicating with certain models of serial-port smartcard reader without using PC/SC (for example Gemcore-based readers and Chipdrive micro.)
If your reader is not PC/SC compliant, which applies to some low-cost dedicated gsm-only readers that are sold with simple phonebook software applications, then it is likely that PhoneFile PRO will not work, unless you can identify the original manufacturer of the reader, and obtain PC/SC drivers for download on their web site.
